Life of the Party - The plot is dull, the jokes are cliché, and the characters are forgettable
Comedy (infrequent).
The husband character suddenly divorces the wife character (Melissa) at the beginning, so she goes back to university to complete her degree, this turns out to be the same university as her daughter.
My wife seemed to enjoy and laughed fairly consistently, I think I laughed 3-4 times but also felt uncomfortable with the humour at times. They should have made more of the weird reclusive roommate.
After the success of 'Bridesmaids' and 'Spy', Melissa has gone generally downhill. The plot is dull, the jokes are cliché, and the characters are forgettable.
5/10
