Churchill - Voted as one of the greatest Britons who ever lived
Historical drama, very dialogue heavy, which is right up my street!
Stars Brian Cox performing in a Shakespearian manner. This is not to be viewed as a biopic but was a snapshot of the 3 days leading up to D-Day. Winston Churcill was very resistant to the plan due to the potential high loss of life, he believed the D-Day mission was a bad idea and tries to convince the military leaders and politicians around him. Throughout the film he is seen to be struggling with personal and political conflicts.
Winston is portrayed as a great warrior, probably more so than he really was. Non-the–less he was extremely brave and has since been voted as one of the greatest Britons who ever lived.
A great film that would make a great (probably greater) stage play.
